plastic reality

in your diminished state

you are still the teacher

teaching about the nature of reality

through koans and conundrums

they, now being your offered gifts

living in a world of calm uncertainty

life no longer colored by joy or sorrow

apprehension the one emotion

left in your dwindling repertoire

without a word you teach

about the Universe and its impermanence,

in your mind time standing still

showing creation and destruction

as our intimate neighbors

daily lessons in the importance of connections

how they are made or broken,

how life‘s meaning is dependent on context,

how without them things fall apart.

the power of limitation your language

silence and forgetfulness the curriculum

inseparable twins that follow us

spinning in their inevitable orbits
